| appearance Standing proud at 5'7, Naruto has grown into the very image of his father the Fourth Hokage of Konoha, Minato Namikaze. Except for the minor difference that the whisker marks he received at birth remain on his bright, cheerful face. Naruto is almost always smiling; a smile from Naruto can lighten up anyone's day. Even as an adult, Naruto retains the bright, cheeky spark that endeared him to so many as he grew up. Naruto has bold, spiky blonde hair, longer now than it was when he was teenager but still in the same style as it has always been. His eyes are a sky blue, and usually the first thing people notice about him. He still wears his Konoha headband around his forehead, and still dresses in his trademark orange. And of course, now that he is Hokage, Naruto wears the traditional robes and hat, but usually just at important ceremonies. The rest of the time, he wears a simple, sleeveless white coat with red flames at the bottom, and 'Hokage' written in kanji on the back. personality Naruto has an optimistic outlook on life; he is cheerful, friendly and outgoing. An extrovert if ever there was one. He’s helpful, and extremely protective of those people he feels are important to him, energetic, light-hearted, you would think there hasn’t been a day in his life where Naruto hasn’t been smiling. Of course, he does have his darker side. Thanks to his early life as an outcast, Naruto fears being alone, rejected, he hates to be looked down on or seen as worthless. He’s also quick tempered when it comes to people picking on anyone else, or judging people because of their abilities instead of for themselves. Also, due to the loss of many friends in recent years, he has sobered a little, able to be serious and determined when need be. strengths & abilities One word, determined. Naruto can never be deterred when he sets his mind on something. If he says he'll do it, he'll do it, he'll find a way, no matter how impossible it might seem. He's also extremely innovative, able to devise cunning plans in a heartbeat when necessary. He’s a talented fighter, especially when it comes to using various combinations with his kage bunshin. He’s efficient in different styles and has huge stamina, able to outlast most opponents. He also has enhanced senses thanks to merging with Kyuubi, sight, smell and hearing are all exceptional, enabling him to track and sense opponents easily. Also as Hokage of Konoha, Naruto has learned what it means to be a good leader and is effective in making decisions and commanding others when need be. weaknesses His temper, it’s short, very, very short. He’s easy to provoke with a few words and has a tendency to leap into a fight without thinking, though he has gotten better over the years as he’s matured. He’s also very easy to read, Naruto wears his heart on his sleeve as the saying goes. Emotions, feelings, Naruto is poor at hiding them, and this can make him vulnerable. weapons Kunai, shuriken, explosive tags, his fists and feet usually, and of course, a huge repertoire of ninjutstu, taijutsu and even some genjutsu now. He also knows sealing techniques and the Yellow Flash, an ability to throw a kunai and instantaneously travel to its location. history On the night Naruto was born, a nine tailed demon fox, the Kyuubi attacked his home village of Konoha. The village’s leader at the time could not defeat the demon, so as a last resort, he sealed the monster inside the newborn child Naruto. As he dies it was his final wish that the child be treated as a hero by the villagers, a wish that wasn’t granted. Naruto grew up ostracized from the other children, the villagers calling him a monster, a demon, for the first twelve years of his life, he never had a friend or anyone who he could call family. Until his teacher Iruka, looked past the fact a demon was sealed inside the boy, and saw him for the person he was. Iruka allowed Naruto to graduate the ninja academy, despite always having been the last in class, and become a real ninja. Naruto’s first year as a genin was an eventful one, he travelled to many places, saw many things and met many people. He learned about different views on the life of a ninja, and how difficult it could be. Along with his teammates, Sakura and Sasuke, and his teacher, Kakashi, he fought rogue ninja’s and even participated in the chuunin exams that year, an unusual thing for such newly gradated ninja. In that exam he met a boy named Gaara, a jinchuuriki (demon container) like him, and though they fought, Naruto was able to turn around Gaara’s viewpoint, show him that because he had a demon inside him it didn’t mean he was a monster who could only kill. He could be more; he just had to show people. Naruto also met a man called Jiraiya, the one who would become his official teacher for the next few years, and learned of his village’s greatest enemy, Orochimaru, who had designs on Sasuke and his Sharingan eyes. Sasuke was hungry for power to get revenge on his older brother, and after seeing how strong Naruto was becoming decided that the only way he could become strong enough was to leave and join Orochimaru and take the power and teachings he was offering. Naruto of course chased after him, and the two battled each other fiercely at the Valley of the End, Naruto didn’t want to lose his best friend, even using the demon’s chakra to try and beat him, but in the end Sasuke won, knocking him out, and left. After Naruto recovered from that fight, he left with Jiraiya to train as his apprentice for two years, vowing to become strong enough to get Sasuke back and also to defeat Akatsuki, a criminal organisation (of whom Sasuke’s brother was a member’ who sought to capture all of the tailed demons for themselves. Upon his return, Naruto was sent immediately to the Village hidden in the Sand, where Akatsuki had moved to capture Gaara and were extracting his demon from him, killing him in the process. Alongside Sakura and Kakashi, he was was able to defeat the Akatsuki members responsible and thanks to an elder from the Sand village, Gaara was ressurected, albeit without his demon. During the battle, Sakura learned of Orochimaru’s whereabouts, and a possible lead to Sasuke’s location. On their next mission, they left hoping to get him back. It didn’t go well, Sasuke fought against them, and Naruto lost control to the demon inside him, almost killing Sakura. Afterwards, he trained harder to control it, and to improve his ability to use his own powers rather than relying on the fox’s chakra. After fighting and killing two other Akatsuki members Konoha received word of Orochimaru’s death... and Sasuke’s. Naruto refused to believe his friend was dead, begging Tsunade (the current Hokage) to let him go and look for him. She refused, stating that Akatsuki was the most important worry at that time, and that Naruto had to concentrate on making sure they didn’t get hold of the nine-tails. With extreme reluctance, Naruto obeyed her, but still, he believed Sasuke was alive, somewhere... The next two years were terrible, Naruto fought and killed many Akatsuki members, and in return lost friends to them. Jiraiya and Sakura were among them... In the end, when it came down to the final battle with the head of Akatsuki, imbued with the power of the other tailed demons, Naruto was forced to merge with the Kyuubi in one last final attempt to stop him. It worked, using his perfected Wind Shuriken version of rasengan, enhanced by the demons power Naruto was able to kill the Akatsuki leader. But it took so much power, power from the Kyuubi that would never be recovered, the demon’s conciousness seemingly vanished into Naruto’s, leaving him only with reserves of chakra unfeasible in a human, and claws and fangs to show what he had been through as well as a sligtly more animalistic personality. When Naruto was nineteen, after a year of being a jounin and a brief stint in ANBU, Tsunade chose to step down from being Hokage, and named Naruto as her successor, to resounding approval (even if there were still some who protested and were promptly ignored). Naruto finally achieved his dream, even if he had lost Sakura and Sasuke in the process.
